Play this game (Requires Silverlight)
This was a chance to think about how video games are designed and implemented. More details must be handled to create a simple game than you might expect. For example:
- In the original game, only one shot is allowed to be fired at a time.
- There’s a noticeably finite number of discrete positions allowed for the player. Every time the player moves to the left or right, there must be an animation composed of frames interpolated between the two positions.
- When a column of invaders has disappeared, the entire group of invaders must move a greater distance to fill in the gap.
